😊 Epiphany is a Christian holiday celebrated on January 6th, and its primary significance is the manifestation of Jesus Christ to the world. In Western tradition, it is primarily linked to the Three Wise Men who brought gifts to the Baby Jesus: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. In Italy, however, Epiphany also has a very popular and folkloristic side: it is the day of the Befana, a friendly old lady who flies on a broomstick and brings sweets to good children and coal to naughty ones. Typical sweets include Befana stockings, often filled with chocolate, candy, dried fruit, or small surprises.
